CELEBRATING OUTSTANDING WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES IN CHICAGO
March is National Women’s History Month. 2020 marked the centennial celebration of women winning the right to vote. 2021 ushered in new wins and celebrations for women around the globe. Kamala Harris was sworn in as the United States’ first female African American and Asian American Vice President. It’s hard to believe that it was not until 1987 that Congress declared March as National Women’s History Month in perpetuity.

Nearly 50% of the seats on our Board of Directors are fearless females. Over 55% of our Cubed Construction team is female. Considering construction has historically been a male dominated field, we are setting the bar high!
Women-owned businesses are on the rise, despite the challenges of the past year. This indicates an upward growth in the world of female-helmed businesses. All over the country women owned small businesses are thriving thanks to leadership, perseverance and the support of the nation. Chicago is full of inspirational women who continue to raise the bar across various industries.

From Kinzie Chop House’s Nicole Flevaris and Girl & The Goat’s Stephanie Izard, Chicago is teeming with exceptional restaurants owned by women. Brown Bag Seafood founder and CEO Donna Lee serves up high quality seafood in her quick serve concept.
